I am a Civil Engineer from Los Andes University (Colombia). I received my PhD from the Technical University of Catalonia in Earthquake Engineering and Structural Dynamics. I have participated in projects for the assessment of earthquake losses and indicators of disaster risk and risk management in countries of South America. My research has been focused in the evaluation of seismic safety, indirect losses and response capacity of hospitals and schools, as well as the analysis of benefits and costs of risk mitigation strategies.
