Karim Farokhnia

Dr. Farokhnia has a PhD degree in structural engineering. He has more than one year of work experience as a structural designer, and three years of research work background on development of vulnerability functions for different building categories. For his PhD dissertation, he participated in a joint research project by the University of Colorado at Boulder and the Global Earthquake Model (GEM), for developing of a simplified method for deriving seismic vulnerability of different building categories according to the Performance Based Earthquake Engineering (PBEE) methodology. Currently, he is conducting a research wok on applying remote sensing techniques for rapidly deriving seismic vulnerability of buildings in regional levels.
