Alper Kanyilmaz

Alper Kanyilmaz is a research engineer in Politecnico di Milano University. After obtaining his Civil Engineering BS degree in Middle East Technical University (METU), he continued his academic activities on earthquake engineering field in Italy, and got his Master's Degree from the same university he has been working for. He has been involved in several research projects on the seismic design of steel structures and innovative methods for seismic resistant structures. Currently he is involved in a Research Fund for Coal and Steel (RFCS) project about seismic design of steel rack structures as a research engineer. He has also been practicing as a structural engineer in a consultancy firm. He has presented several publications about earthquake engineering, seismic isolation systems, steel and composite structures in international conferences as a coauthor. He speaks Turkish as a mother tongue, and English and Italian fluently.
